Marie

I fell into the accounting field over 15 years ago.  At the time, I had no education, experience or any real knowledge of accounting or its’ principals, but I had a natural ability and, as sad as it is to say, enjoyment of numbers.  I was lucky enough to work for a company that nurtured that talent, helped arrange my work-day schedule to accommodate college courses, and even paid for the courses necessary to turn accounting into my career.

Over the years, I climbed the experience ladder into new companies, towards positions of greater responsibility and required knowledge, (even without earning a degree of any kind), and was enjoying the best paid position in my young career.

Then I was laid off.

I discovered that I was living in a delusional world, where I was the Master Accountant, and any company would be frothing at the mouth to employ me.  I have been unemployed, (other than a short temp job in Hell), since mid 2008.

The longer I am fun-employed, (that’s Palmer’s term), the more I have come to realize that I don’t necessarily want a new full-time job with, yet another company, that will send me home as soon as their budget gets tight.

I really like the idea of an internet business and the lifestyle that goes along with it.  Being extremely dim in the world of web sites, internet searching, software and hardware, I am learning all I can with the help of Palmer.  I bring something to the table though, I am organized and business minded.  That will have to be enough while I fumble though the rest.

On a personal note, I have been married to the same wonderful guy for goin’ on 16 years, and we have two great kids to show for it.  My family is my major reason for wanting to make this thing work.  Time together while traveling and enjoying new adventures is more than I can hope for…but I’m hoping anyway.
